It all started when...
A child was driven home from the London Hospital as a newborn in a pre-war Aston Martin. The die was cast.
Since that event in the 1950s the association and involvement in the marque has been ever more engrossing and far reaching.
Surely no other marque has so many stories attached. From its inception in 1913 to the present, this is a car that has stirred emotions in the boardroom, movie theatre, on the race track, road and around the world. Nothing about Aston Martin is mundane. The narrative continues and so too does the following grow amongst enthusiasts and aficionados around the globe.
Aston Martins are truly 'important' in the arena of fine cars and their history is of growing interest and importance as they become more and more sought after by connoisseurs.
This resource and service is to help those connoisseurs.
Stephen Archer
AMI offers a discreet range of services for Aston Martin owners – current and aspiring
Sixty years knowledge and hands on experience is available to help people get the most from their Astons and enjoy the experience.
Stephen Archer started working on Astons as soon as he could lift a spanner. He helped his father fettle his many Astons and prepare them for Concours with great success. In 1975, Stephen restored his first Aston, a DB6MK2 Volante which won the AMOC Autumn concours that year and the next. In 1988 the ex Lord Brabazon DB2 was acquired and rebuilt by Stephen. The car went on to win concours and Hill Climb trophies.
Racing Astons started in 1978 and continues to this day having raced them all over the UK, USA and at Le Mans. He has owned two DB2s, a DB MKIII, DB4 series 1, DB4 series 2, DB5, DB6, DBSV8, AMV8 OI, Project DP214 replica, GT4 and a 1932 New International. The latter was found in the US having been ‘lost’ for over 40 years and Stephen is rebuilding this himself.
He has written and co-written four books on the marque following in the footsteps of his father who wrote numerous books too.
Stephen’s mission is straightforward; to help people to acquire the right car and then to be able to enjoy it to the full. Owners have a right to pleasure from ownership – even during a restoration process if that is required.
